Somewhere Still

October 3 – November 7, 2026

It is an honor to present Jennifer Brou’s solo debut, featuring a stunning series of fourteen large-scale graphite drawings.

Brou's work delivers us deep into the woods for an emotional encounter with stillness, shadow, and a supreme reverence for the natural world. Her work is exquisite and not to be missed.

Artist Statement

My practice is based on the ritual of wandering.

Whether isolated in the woods or deeply invested in a drawing, I allow myself to become lost in the process. I use photography and rendering from direct observation to record my subjects and bring them to my studio, where I combine them with imagined elements.

Drawing in this manner is both a wandering and a search for stillness; a translation and distillation of place into an accumulation of marks. This ritual draws my subjects closer through slow, meticulous contemplation, an act of devotion that creates spaces in which to get lost.
